Biography of Chantal Bernier, Assistant Privacy Commissioner of Canada

Photo: Chantal BernierChantal Bernier was appointed Assistant Privacy Commissioner of Canada in December 2008.

Ms. Bernier started her career in the federal government as a lawyer in the Department of Justice Canada. She went on to hold a directorship at the Privy Council Office before being appointed Assistant Deputy Minister at Indian and Northern Affairs Canada, and later on at Public Safety Canada.

She holds a Bachelor of Civil Law from the University of Sherbrooke and a Masters in Public International Law from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
