Privacy Commissioner launches Privacy Tech-Know blog series

The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada is today launching a new Privacy Tech-Know blog series aimed at privacy professionals interested in increasing their technical awareness and knowledge.

The posts will help privacy professionals speak more confidently and accurately about new information technologies and their privacy implications. The series of blog posts planned for the coming months will cover everything from cookie contents to e-voting systems to license plate recognition.

The first in a series, Pay me to regain access to your personal information! Ransomware on the rise, focuses on the fast-growing problem of ransomware. By some estimates, Canadians are affected by more than 1,600 ransomware attacks per day.

We hope you will find these posts useful, watch for future announcements for the next installment.
