International privacy guardians to highlight concerns about online companies

As part of an unprecedented collaboration, privacy and data protection authorities from around the world will join together to hold a press conference where they will share their growing concerns about the privacy practices of Google Inc. and other online companies.

Privacy and data protection authorities from Canada, France, Israel, Netherlands and Spain will participate in the press conference. The initiative is also supported by privacy and data protection authorities in Germany, Italy, Ireland, New Zealand and the U.K.

A news release will be issued on the newswires in the early morning on Tuesday, April 20th. It will also be available at www.priv.gc.ca.
