Philippe Dufresne appointed Canada’s new Privacy Commissioner

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau today announced the appointment of Philippe Dufresne as the next Privacy Commissioner of Canada. He will begin his new role on Monday, June 27. Mr. Dufresne previously served as the Law Clerk and Parliamentary Counsel of the House of Commons. As required under the Privacy Act, his appointment was approved by resolution of the Senate and the House of Commons.
