Privacy Commissioner to release findings following investigation into Home Depot

The results of an investigation into Home Depot of Canada Inc.’s sharing of customer e-receipt information with Meta Platforms Inc., which operates Facebook, will be released tomorrow, Thursday, January 26, 2023.

A news conference for journalists will be held to discuss the findings. The investigation’s Report of Findings will be posted on the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada website 90 minutes before the News Conference. Embargoed copies are not available in advance.

Details: There will be a News Conference for journalists. Journalists may attend in person or via the Zoom video conferencing platform.

The News Conference will begin with a statement from Privacy Commissioner Philippe Dufresne. There will be time allocated after for questions from reporters.
