Privacy Commissioner of Canada appears before Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security to discuss Bill C-8

Privacy Commissioner of Canada Philippe Dufresne appeared today before the House of Commons Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security to share his views on Bill C-8, An Act respecting cyber security, amending the Telecommunications Act and making consequential amendments to other Acts.
In his remarks, Commissioner Dufresne said that Bill C-8 recognizes that we must take steps to protect critical infrastructure against cyber threats as they continue to evolve in sophistication and complexity. The Commissioner made recommendations to strengthen the Bill from a privacy perspective.
