Privacy Commissioner of Canada to release findings of investigation into Grok chatbot and sexualized deepfakes

The Privacy Commissioner of Canada will hold a press conference to discuss the findings of his investigation into the Grok chatbot’s artificial intelligence-powered image-generation tool.

Commissioner Philippe Dufresne initiated the investigation following reports that the Grok tool was being used to generate and share sexualized deepfakes of individuals without their consent.

Information about the investigative findings will be available at the news conference and posted on the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada website at approximately 10 am ET on June 11, 2026. Embargoed copies are not available in advance.
