Memorandums of understanding with provinces and territories
The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) gives the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) authority to cooperate with provincial privacy commissioners.
In some cases, the OPC has established memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with provincial privacy commissioners. These MOUs establish a framework for consulting, cooperating and sharing relevant information, which helps to ensure that the system of privacy controls and protections for Canadians is as seamless as possible.
This page lists the MOUs the OPC has signed with provincial privacy commissioners.
