Commissioner shares his views on the Study of the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA)

Today, Privacy Commissioner of Canada, Daniel Therrien, appeared before the Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics (ETHI) on the Study of the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

In his remarks he noted that PIPEDA continues to provide a sound foundation upon which to build; however it must be modernized in light of the constant and accelerating pace of technological change and, more importantly, to meet the privacy expectations of Canadians.
