New webpage offers people tips on how to read and better understand privacy policies

Many of our run-of-the-mill daily activities, such as shopping and banking online or using social media or mobile apps, involve sharing our personal information.

It is important to understand why an organization is asking for our information and what they will do with it.

Under Canada’s federal private sector privacy law, PIPEDA, organizations that collect personal information must inform users about their privacy practices.

Our new webpage offers some tips on reading and better understanding an organization’s privacy policies.
