Privacy Commissioner of Canada appears before Standing Senate Committee on Banking, Commerce and the Economy to discuss C-15 data-mobility provisions

Privacy Commissioner of Canada Philippe Dufresne appeared today before the Standing Senate Committee on Banking, Commerce and the Economy to discuss provisions related to data mobility in Bill C-15, the Budget 2025 Implementation Act, No. 1.

Commissioner Dufresne was accompanied by Marc Chénier, Deputy Commissioner and Senior General Counsel.

The Commissioner said that he supports the Bill’s proposed amendments to the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Data Act, or PIPEDA, related to data mobility.
