Privacy Commissioner of Canada discusses Bill C-15 data-mobility provisions before Standing Committee on Industry and Technology

Privacy Commissioner of Canada Philippe Dufresne appeared today before the Standing Committee on Industry and Technology (INDU) to discuss provisions related to data mobility in Bill C-15, the Budget 2025 Implementation Act, No. 1.
The Commissioner was accompanied by Marc Chénier, Deputy Commissioner and Senior General Counsel.
In his remarks, Commissioner Dufresne said that he recognizes the importance of the Bill’s policy objectives and supports efforts to introduce a right to data mobility in Canada’s private-sector privacy law.
