International collaboration on AI and privacy

The OPC collaborates with international partners to help ensure that AI and generative AI technologies are developed in a responsible, trustworthy and privacy-protective way.

Together with international partners, the OPC has issued the following information, resolutions and statements on privacy and AI:

Consultation on AI

In January 2020, the OPC launched a public consultation on appropriate regulation of AI in PIPEDA. The consultation resulted in A Regulatory Framework for AI: Recommendations for PIPEDA Reform.
